Join us to have fun, learn something, and support women on our quest to change the world.
Everyday our programming supports the personal and communal work of dismantling diet culture and the harm it perpetuates. Given how pervasive and well-funded the negative messaging around women’s bodies and our value as humans is, safe havens like Hip Circle are becoming increasingly important. We need each other to change the world. We’ve been fighting this fight for 12 years and, with your support, will continue to provide community and connection to women for years to come. Generation after generation of women have been impacted by diet culture and, through dance, fitness, and community, we can undo that damage. We can shift the messaging from minimizing to maximizing, from thinking small to taking up space. From staying quiet to shouting from the rooftops.
Our students say it best:
“Hip Circle has sparked a new sense of connection with movement, a new level of acceptance and mindset around celebrating my body, and is helping me chip away at the diet culture thinking that has never served me.”We have had a busy year and have so much more we want to accomplish. In 2022 we:
- Led over 600 classes, maintaining our Pay What You Can options for all women to attend
- Led over 30 workshops, serving over 60 new women and girls in the HCEC community
- Launched our online community through Mighty Networks and initiated a new cohort of Empowering through Movement™ Teacher Training Program, and
- Welcomed new community members and brought on new staff and board members!
